Project Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Spring 2025

Project Engineer Co-Op/Intern

A Project Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to capital projects focusing on improving facility infrastructure and product delivery.  Our student opportunities allow you to learn from professional Engineers, offers competitive pay, a relocation package and opportunity to work with a global leader on exciting projects and much more.

New Wales Manufacturing Facility at 3095 Highway 640 Mulberry, FL 33860

Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

 

Term

January 13 - April 25, 2025

Full time Co-Op/Internship. 36-40 hours a week on site.

 

What will you do?

Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:

  • Project execution and management (including scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, contractor management, etc.)
  • Develop, evaluate, and formulate solutions in projects focused on improving the quality of mining processes
  • Design/size/validate new or modification of existing equipment  
  • Computer modeling of a process or system
  • Collaborate with Mosaic’s Procurement team in developing scope of works, preparing requests for quotes and proposals (RFQs/RFPs), listing potential bidders, conducting pre-bid meetings, evaluating bids, writing purchase orders, etc.
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), and contractors
  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

 

What do you need for this role?

  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mining, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, and/or Electrical Engineering
  • 2.75 GPA or higher 
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment 
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required 
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred 
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
