Fixed Assets Accounting Intern

This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from January 2025-June 2025.

 

What You Will Do...

As a Fixed Assets Accounting Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Act as an embedded global team member within Disney’s Fixed Asset Center of Excellence
  • Perform asset capitalizations and maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger for various lines of business across the Company
  • Gather and analyze data, perform computations and prepare cost segregations for fixed asset capitalization and asset creation
  • Research and build data decks related to cost analyzation and capital purchases
  • Collaborate with business and accounting personnel throughout the company to acquire and analyze data for SOX compliance
  • Perform ad hoc special projects & deliverables
  • Work with our fixed asset dedicated tax team to prepare our corporate tax return for fixed asset related line items 

 

Required Qualifications & Skills … 

  • Proficient accounting knowledge with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Possess strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Power Point; Familiar with v-lookups and pivot tables
  • Self-starter with a drive for process improvements and the ability to problem-solve
  • Ability to handle a high-volume workload in a deadline driven and fast-paced environment, prioritizing work accordingly
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, partnering and customer service skills
  • Possess a drive and desire to learn and grow, seeks out new work/projects
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to learn new programs and applications quickly
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment, as well as excel working independently

 

Preferred Qualifications …

  • SAP Experience
  • Previous internship experience or accounting/tax experience with a CPA firm, or medium to large corporation
  • Possess a passion for The Walt Disney Company and our products and services 
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Grade of “A or B” in Intermediate Accounting classes 

 

Education:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year preferred, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date
  • Major or previous coursework in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation, Business or other related field

 

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization 
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program 

Additional Information:

  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025-June 2025.
  • This internship is located in the Orlando, FL area.
  • Candidate must be fully available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
  • This internship is a primarily on-site position which willrequire a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
  • Able to provide your own housing and reliable transportation for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, FL area
