Summary:
Job Summary
Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis on raw materials, solutions, and components, adhering to approved Standard Operating Procedures and test methods accurately and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze organic or inorganic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry.
- Maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring proper functionality and troubleshooting malfunctions as needed.
- Prepare test solutions, compounds, standards, or reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
- Adhere to laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with standards or to make necessary improvements.
- Monitor operational procedures in technical environments to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Purchase laboratory supplies, including chemicals.
- Operate lab equipment such as pipettes, burettes, balances, hot plates, and others as required.
- Review and log samples, and enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Ensure the general upkeep of laboratory and test suites.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following 6S principles, and perform routine laboratory and safety audits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of laboratory instrumentation.
- Good documentation skills and knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with LIMS (or an equivalent system) and TrackWise.
- Effective communication skills with supervisors and peers.
- Basic knowledge of general chemistry techniques.
Required Education and Experience
- B.S. degree in Science; a major in Chemistry is preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry preferred.
