Social media content creator - student worker position

This position is a real-world opportunity for a motivated student to create and manage social media content for the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. This position will develop, produce, and disseminate written and visual content promoting the Statler College community and its alumni. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in storytelling strategies and adept at producing effective social and written content and have an understanding photography, videography and graphic design. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

· Assist Communication Specialist in research and gathering content for the college’s six social media channels

· Experience in creating and developing content through writing, video and photography

· Develop strategies to increase engagement

· Support marketing needs for recruitment, enrollment, and development. 

Job Qualifications and Requirements 

· Experience or has taken classes in social media, journalism, marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, English, or a related field 

· Experience working with web and social media platforms TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and X.

· Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva, Word, PowerPoint 

· Knowledge of graphic design, videography, photography utilized for digital platforms
