Description
Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an Enhanced Geothermal Systems, Modeling and Simulation Postdoctoral Researcher to work in our Power and Energy Systems department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Computing Collaboration Center facility with every other Friday off.
We are looking for a deep understanding of geothermal reservoir physics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, and geomechanics, along with proficiency in using state-of-the-art simulation tools and software. Proficiency with the Multi-physics Object-Oriented Simulation Environment (MOOSE) framework. You will collaborate with a versatile team of scientists and engineers to optimize geothermal energy extraction and contribute to groundbreaking research that supports sustainable energy projects. You will solve technological challenges, requiring in-depth analysis and communication for success.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• PhD in Engineering, Geosciences, Mathematics or comparable disciplines.
• PhD requirements must be completed by commencement of appointment and within the previous 5 years.
• Will demonstrate a strong foundation in modeling and simulation.
• Experience with research and publication in relevant areas.
• Demonstrated oral and published research in English.
DESIRED QUALIFICIATIONS:
Proficiency with the Multi-physics Object-Oriented Simulation Environment (MOOSE) framework.
Proficiency with the Fracturing and Liquid CONvection (FALCON) code.
Job Information:
The target salary for this position is $96,900. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
