Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Internship Summary

Cannon Equipment is looking for an engaged and enthusiastic Intern to join our Summer 2025 paid internship program.  Interns are encouraged to think and act like entrepreneurs and are provided significant responsibility and autonomy to get things done. As an intern, you will gain substantial personal learning and career development opportunities through ownership of real-world job assignments, strong coaching and mentorship and networking with senior leaders across the organization. Over the course of this program, Interns will gain tangible, hands-on experience, and insight into the customer concept to production processes and methodologies.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement: Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Project Support: Support engineering teams in the development and implementation of new processes, equipment, or technologies.
  • Documentation: Help create and maintain detailed documentation, including process maps, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, including equipment malfunctions and quality defects.
  • Quality Control: Participate in quality control activities, including inspections and testing, to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and supply chain, to support project goals and deliverables.
  • Research: Conduct research on new manufacturing techniques, tools, and technologies to stay current with industry trends.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate Degree Program with a focus in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Proficient in using software applications, especially Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Collaborates well in both one-on-one and teamwork settings
  • Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check as permitted or required by applicable law.

 

Certain peak periods may provide opportunity for overtime. This is a paid position. Internship will run for 10 weeks from June to August. Exact dates flexible.
