 CALPIA Laundry program is designed to meet California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) institutional needs statewide. You will train and mentor incarcerated individuals who will gain knowledge and skills needed to meet the highest possible standards for Laundry and increase one’s chances for employment opportunities upon release.

Under general direction of the Prison Industries Manager (General), the Prison Industries Superintendent II (Laundry) is responsible for the overall operation of Prison Industry Authority (PIA) Laundry that services the Central California Women's Facility (CCWF), Valley State Prison (VSP), and various other institutions as needed. Employees will have regular and substantial contact with persons incarcerated in California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation institution and/or medical facilities.

This position may receive a 5% monthly lead bonus.

Monthly Salary: $6,592.00 - $8,181.00

Minimum Qualifications: Four years of production experience in the applicable industrial enterprise or trade, at least two years of which shall have been in a supervising capacity.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Experience in commercial laundry service or facility
  • Factory Production: Experience operating machinery, assemble equipment parts, etc.
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Manufacturing/production equipment maintenance experience
  • Purchasing and contract experience
  • Inventory management experience
  • Budgeting experience
