The National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS), Office of Satellite and Products Operations (OSPO), Wallops Command Data Acquisition Station (WCDAS) is recruiting for the following position with two (2) openings located in Wallops Island, VA.

Duties
As an IT Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Serve as a senior IT Specialist, formulating and developing solutions to IT-related system issues and resolves system anomalies; develop system support policies, procedures, and standards; and provide customer training.
- Lead the development, design, and implementation of comprehensive database and associated software applications.
- Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment; implement security procedures and tools; develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
- Serve as office liaison between Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), providing consultation and coordinating and justifying System Change Request before Line Office OCIO.

The position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band. The ZP-03 is equivalent to the GS-11/12. The ZP-04 is equivalent to the GS-13/14.
