Sales Intern
Job Summary:
The Sales Intern position is sales oriented, requires advanced communication skills, and a desire to learn and understand the fundamentals of insurance sales and servicing. The Sales Intern will rotate through two complementary roles: Service; and Sales to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. The Sales Intern performs the essential functions of the position noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency
Essential Functions:
- Partner with a Client Relationship Manager to prepare presentations for client renewal discussions
- Work with the Client Services team to identify and update insurance carrier value added services within our Client Services Playbook
- Using internet research and networking techniques, identify and contact potential new clients in need of our unique services and solutions.
- In partnership with a Sales Producer and the Marketing team, prepare proposals for client policy renewals and new prospect discussions.
- Assist in the back-end servicing activities for existing clients including certificate of insurance and auto id card issuance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing, to explain insurance issues, to receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
- Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Confident, self-starter who works well independently.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- At least one year of work towards a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program with a majoring in Business, Communications, or other related major
- Sales experience and acumen, to include researching, prospecting, qualifying, and finding the best solutions to client needs.
