Our Preschool Teachers are essential in fostering children’s success throughout their academic journey. They provide a comprehensive approach that addresses a child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Salary Range: $17.00 - $20.50/hr

*Salary range is contingent upon relatable experience, credentialing/certification, education, and use of a second language in your role (50% of the time).


As a Preschool Assistant Teacher at IRL, you will:

  • prepare and implement lesson plans for children with/without special needs by writing or typing using modern office technology. 
  • move from classroom to classroom within the program to support other teachers/students.
  • quickly transition/move from student to student to support their needs.
  • Using cleaning agents, maintain the classrooms and play areas in clean, safe, and neat order.
  • assemble portfolios for each child in the classroom utilizing hands and organization skills.
  • communicate with parents in person, over the phone, or via email daily.

You will need the following minimum qualifications to be considered:

  • At least 6 Early Childhood Education units from an accredited college or university
  • Provide proof of TB Test, MMR, and DTap vaccines
  • Complete a health screening  
  • Must clear a current background check through the FBI, DOJ, and CCL 

Environment Qualifications: The Almansor Center Early Education Program is a developmental program for young children, Infants to Pre-K, designed to encourage the social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth and development of each child. Almansor strives to create an atmosphere that allows each child’s intellectual curiosity to flourish in a safe and nurturing environment.  While performing the duties, you may encounter a loud noise level which can be emotionally unsettling from time to time because we are working with infants to Pre-K students who may or may not have risk factors for developmental delays. This job is done indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.

The classroom and playgrounds are located on the same campus as Almansor Academy, which services at-risk students with the potential to act aggressively.  These behaviors may result in trained Almansor Academy restraining students from protecting them from physically harming themselves or other students and staff.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift or hold children weighing as much as 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, lie or kneel in awkward positions and to perform work from these positions.
  • Ability to withstand stressful environments associated with a classroom of up to 22 children (some with special needs) under 6 at any given time.
  • Ability to tolerate harsh smells associated with diaper changing and potty training.
  • Ability to remain calm in a very busy or emergency..
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
