Role Overview: The People Operations Intern at Electric Potential will support the People Operations Manager in managing and optimizing the organization's human resources functions. This role will assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, offboarding, and member engagement processes. The People Operations Intern will help develop and implement HR policies and procedures, manage member relations, and support performance management and professional development initiatives. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a basic understanding of HR principles, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Duration: 4 months, with the option to commit longer based on performance. This role has a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the full life-cycle recruitment process, including posting role descriptions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing members.
- Help develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in managing member relations and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Support training and professional development initiatives.
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date member records.
- Conduct regular paperwork audits to ensure best practices and compliance.
- Provide administrative support to the People Operations Manager as needed.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; and/or experience as an HR Intern, HR Generalist, Recruiter Intern or Recruiter.
- Basic understanding of HR principles, policies, and procedures.
- Strong email etiquette required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with Notion preferred.
- Experience with Coda a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an asynchronous remote environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Ability to attend monthly 1:1 meetings with the People Operations Manager.
- Ability to attend weekly department meetings.
- Ability to attend bi-weekly all hands meetings.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship/volunteer role.
