Job Summary

Students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of fossil (natural gas and coal), hydroelectric generation operations, chemistry, and environmental that will prepare them, upon graduation, to compete for entry-level, professional positions in the utility industry. The programs’ goals are to attract, develop, and retain high-potential college students. Upon graduation and successful completion of our program, they may be eligible for consideration for a full-time position in one of DESC’s core businesses. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and as a team, a valid driver’s license with a safe driving history and must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned work location and have reliable transportation.  Must also be able to move about freely and perform field work and have strong computer knowledge and skills with demonstrated ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Office products.

Education Requirements

Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
