Food Applications Intern

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research & Development (R&D) Intern to join the Corbion team in Lenexa, KS.  The successful candidate should be passionate about conducting food processing and shelf-life research in refrigerated food applications using natural antimicrobial and antioxidant ingredients.

Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, work on a project to be completed by the end of summer.
• Present research findings to R&D team.
• Assist and execute refrigerated food projects along with R&D Scientists to address the needs of our customers.  Project work including but not limited to food processing, ingredient functionality, sensory testing, and finished food matrix analysis.
• Report/discuss work status and other critical information with peers and R&D management.
• Be flexible in taking additional tasks as needed to support business goals.
• Assist in maintaining a lab environment that is clean, organized, and work ready.
• Cultivate a team atmosphere with peer groups and upper management.

Education Major:  Food Science, Food Chemistry, or related fields.  Technical training or previous experience is a plus.
