Founded by experienced energy infrastructure developers to address needed grid upgrades, Jubilee Energy works  to relieve transmission congestion that prevents energy customers from taking full advantage of more modern and cost-effective energy resources. Jubilee develops new transmission line projects that address hard to solve problems for the electricity grid, and focuses on projects that assist in driving more renewable energy to the markets and consumers that need it the most.  

Position Overview:
Jubilee Transmission is seeking an intern to assist in market and regulatory research and analysis. We are looking for an ambitious self-starter who can harness the latest AI tool and NLP models to analyze industry wide documents that are relevant to Jubilee’s business. This candidate will have demonstrated experience using AI tools to extract relevant information from technically complex documents to assist in market research, development strategies, and product development. The ideal candidate is interested in learning more about the energy sector, clean energy, and decarbonization.  Your work will be used to accelerate understanding of our customers’ plans and developing projects that directly address their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market and Regulatory Research:
    • Analyze and summarize complex regulatory filings, industry reports, and policy documents relevant to Jubilee Transmission's business.
    • Monitor and track developments in energy policy, transmission regulations, and market trends that impact the company.
  • Utilization of AI and NLP Tools:
    • Harness the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to efficiently extract and synthesize information from large volumes of technical documents.
    • Stay updated on emerging AI technologies and methodologies to enhance research capabilities.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Prepare concise summaries, briefs, and presentations to communicate key findings to internal stakeholders.
    • Assist in developing insights that inform market research, development strategies, and product development.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including policy, development, and engineering, to align research efforts with company objectives.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on regulatory and market strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a senior undergraduate student or beginning a graduate program in a relevant field (e.g., Energy Policy, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science).
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools and NLP models for data analysis and information extraction.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with the energy sector, particularly transmission infrastructure and energy markets, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and experience with AI/ML libraries is advantageous but not required. Experience with GIS is also advantageous but not required.
