FedHall Spring 2025 Internship

Position Title: Spring 2025 Financial Policy & Government Affairs Internship

Preferred Internship Duration: January 6, 2025 – May 24, 2025 (dates can be flexible with a student’s academic-year schedule and availability)

Position:

Federal Hall Policy Advisors, LLC (“FedHall”) is seeking an intern to join our team for the spring of 2025. We are a bipartisan, bicameral, policy-driven government affairs firm that advocates on behalf of the nation’s leading businesses and associations - with an emphasis on the banking, insurance, capital market, and housing sectors. For more information, please visit our website at www.FedHall.com.

Our government affairs internship provides students with hands-on learning experiences with the nation’s lawmakers and an inside look at government relations strategies. Our goal is to ensure our interns are prepared to succeed in entry-level policy positions on or off the Hill by providing them with opportunities to learn the basics of public policy advocacy including direct advocacy, strategic planning, coalition building, and navigating the federal regulatory environment.

FedHall’s internship program prioritizes policy analysis, writing skills, efficient communications, attention to detail, and research.

Responsibilities:

  • Public policy research
  • Congressional hearing coverage
  • Memo drafting
  • News coverage
  • Administrative office responsibilities

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Familiarity with U.S. Senators, Members of Congress, and knowledge of Capitol Hill
  • Familiarity with financial services industry

As a government affairs firm, FedHall’s work stream varies greatly with Congress’s schedule. Hours can be flexible based on a student’s availability, and compensation is comparable to an entry-level Hill position. An intern should expect to put in additional hours on weeks Congress is in session and have fewer assignments when Congress is out of session. We are more than happy to work with your academic schedule, but we do ask for prior notice so we can plan your research projects and hearing coverage accordingly. In addition, this is an in-person position, meaning we expect an intern to come into the office (downtown DC) at least 1-2 times a week.

To Apply: Please send a resume, cover letter, writing sample (2-5 pages), and contact information for one professional reference to Arushi Bansal at arushi.bansal@fedhall.com by Sunday, November 17th. Selected candidates will be sent interview invites for the following 2-3 weeks.

  • If you have previously interned in a public policy position, please include a work sample instead of a college essay as your writing sample (e.g. previous Congressional hearing summary or policy memo).
  • If you have previously interned during the academic year, it is highly preferred that your professional reference is your supervisor from that position. If you feel it would help, you may provide 2 professional references in this scenario.
  • In your cover letter, please include the following:
    • Why are you interested in interning with FedHall?
    • What make you an attractive candidate?
    • What is your expected availability during the academic year? Do you anticipate being able to slot out specific weekdays for FedHall responsibilities? How often can you come into the office? What specific dates are you available?

We will only consider applicants who have emailed their materials to Arushi Bansal. We will not review Handshake submissions. Please review section above for more details.
