Duties and Responsibilities:
Working independently from, and alongside of experienced members within the Corporate Finance team, you will be assigned a variety of accounting responsibilities that will help to expand and solidify your knowledge of accounting principles. Tasks will include the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, account analysis, maintaining workpapers and roll forwards, and assisting in the preparation of the company’s internal and external financial statements and footnote disclosures. The intern may also be assigned other ad hoc projects or accounting research, as required.
Projects the Intern will work on:
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statement footnote disclosures
- Prepare journal entries as part of the month-end close process
- Prepare account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to support accuracy of financial statements
Internship Goals:
- Opportunity to apply learned financial accounting concepts while gaining valuable accounting experience in the corporate environment (albeit remote) at a multi-billion dollar company.
- Be introduced to various complex accounting and financial reporting systems and have an opportunity to work with them hands-on.
- Apply Excel skills to dissect, analyze, reconcile and report various data sets.
- Work on various other projects for business analytics as required by the manager and team to improve financial efficiency.
- Sharpen your communication skills while working remotely within a team of professional colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Major(s): Accounting/Finance/Business Analytics
- Year in school: completed at least 2 years of a business program at an accredited college/university
- Specific course work: Accounting
- Proficiency in Excel required
