Laboratory and Clinical Research Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven individual to work closely with an UCLA principal investigator in carrying out laboratory procedures and working on scientific projects. The laboratory studies autoimmune diseases in both animal models and humans. This position will entail a variety of research procedures, including molecular biology (PCR, DNA subcloning, sequencing, protein analysis), tissue culture, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry. Experience maintaining a mouse colony, including genotyping, husbandry, and meticulous record keeping, are preferred. Routine lab maintenance (organizing and ordering supplies, keeping protocols up to date) will also be expected. Experience gained here will be directly relevant to those with long-term interests in medicine and health-related fields.
