Summer Intern - Gene Therapy

Overview

The Insmed Summer Internship Program gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment in the pharmaceutical industry, receive mentoring from highly skilled professionals, and work on dynamic team projects. Our 12-week 2025 Summer Intern program is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Responsibilities

Representative responsibilities will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Participate in designing, cloning, and producing novel AAV gene therapy candidates using a broad range of molecular biology and tissue culture techniques
  • Contribute to evaluating AAV gene therapy candidate properties and function using in vitro assays
  • Assist in the development and execution of cell-based biological potency assays
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
  • Collaborate with team members on research and development initiatives
  • Present findings and progress updates to the team

Qualifications:

  • Currently in full-time pursuit of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or advanced level degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology or related field
  • Interested in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry
  • High level understanding of molecular biology techniques, recombinant DNA technology, bacterial and mammalian cell culture, and protein characterization techniques
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Successfully exhibit Insmed’s five (5) corporate values: Collaboration, Accountability, Passion, Integrity & Respect; along with any other position specific competencies.
  • Ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace.

Salary Range

$25 - $35 per hour

Compensation & Benefits

Eligible for paid company holidays during the intern program.
