Job Summary
Are you passionate about Water Resources Engineering? Our expertise in water resources management, hydrologic modeling, and design of water infrastructure is recognized across the globe. TYLin is looking for a Water Resources Designer Intern to join our San Diego office for the Summer of 2025. As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects, working alongside experienced engineers on tasks such as hydrologic modeling, water quality analysis, and design of water infrastructure. This internship is your chance to be part of a collaborative community where you can expand your knowledge and sharpen your skills through hands-on meaningful work.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You Will Do
- Become familiar with engineering plans and details
- Participate in water resources planning and management
- Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Perform quantity take-offs
- Assist with project monitoring and scheduling
- Assist with producing progress reports
- Collaborate with other engineers, drafters, and support staff
- Assist in production of engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under close supervision of senior engineers
- Ability to apply the use of proper codes and standards in the production of engineering deliverables
- Attend site visits or inspections

Your Education and Experience
- Requires current 3rd year standing as an undergraduate, or a Graduate student standing, in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Coursework in hydrology, hydraulics, water resources engineering, and environmental engineering is preferred.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel and engineering software
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation experience is preferred
- Familiarity with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, Storm CAD, and GIS software is a plus
