Nurse Residency

The Stanford Health Care Nurse Residency Program begins on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Your nursing career deserves to start with the best foundation! To foster your growing talents, we invite you to consider the Stanford Health Care New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Thoughtfully designed for highly motivated and committed new graduate nurses, this is a comprehensive one-year training program—providing over 300+ bedside care hours with an experienced nurse preceptor, supported with an additional 100 hours of clinical education, immersive training and unique “New Grad Seminar” workshops. Our rigorous Vizient driven curriculum, emphasizes the professional nurse role, leadership and patient outcomes and is guided by Watson Caring Science Theory.

Program Requirements:
1) Must be a graduate from an accredited ADN, BSN or MSN program. Accredited online programs included.

2) The official graduation transcript date no greater than 18 months from cohort hire/start date.

3) **NO EXCEPTIONS** - Must have a current California RN License that can be verified online via the California Board of Registered Nursing by no later than Friday, February 14, 2025.

4) Previous Work Experience - Must have no more than an accumulative 6 months of paid RN work experience (full-time).

5) BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required. (AHA ACLS is strongly preferred.)

-Must include the number of clinical hours for each rotation/preceptorship
-If clinical rotation/preceptorship is in progress at time of application submission, please note “in progress.”

3) Work Experience (if applicable): Must provide job title, responsibilities, and time frame for employment

4) Volunteer Experience (if applicable):
-Must provide volunteer title, responsibilities and hours volunteered
-Must include name and contact information of individual/agency who supervised your volunteer activities.

5) Two (2) School of Nursing Faculty References - Please provide faculty name, role and contact information. *No letters of recommendation are required - Please do not upload. We will not review them*
