Behavioral Health Equity Analyst
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by promoting equitable social, economic, and environmental conditions to achieve optimal health, mental health, and well-being for all.
The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA), acting as the Behavioral Health Equity Analyst (BHEA) in the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Section, serves as the program analyst for the Children and Youth Behavioral Health program responsible for implementing initiatives to address mental health disparities among high-risk and underserved children and youth populations in California. The BHEA works of average difficulty in a wide variety of consultative and analytical staff services assignments related to executing the interdisciplinary health equity policy and planning work of the Branch, including program evaluation and planning; systems development; budgeting; planning; training; management; and personnel analysis; among other related work.
THIS IS A STATEWIDE RECRUITMENT. THE INCUMBENT WILL BE HEADQUARTERED IN THE COUNTY NEAREST THE RESIDENCE OF THE SELECTED CANDIDATE. THE COUNTIES ARE: *Contra Costa County*Sacramento County*
Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and trends of public and business administration, management, and supportive staff services such as budgeting, personnel, and management analysis; government functions and organization; and methods and techniques of effective conference leadership.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary professional and administrative staff and analyze administrative policies, organization, procedures, and practices.
- Ability to analyze complex program implementation problems and develop effective courses of action to solve them.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with leadership, other state, and federal agencies, and CDPH partners.
- Ability to analyze data and present ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing.
- Proficient skills in Excel, which include tracking data and items, budgeting, formulating calculations, and organizing spreadsheets.
- Experience in public health, public policy, health administration, and/or procurements.
