The National Energy Improvement Fund, LLC seeks a qualified candidate for the role of Staff Accountant.  Your primary function will be to effectively manage financial and accounting issues and practices including general ledger, cash management, and operational controls.  This will involve communication with investors and program partners, including states, utilities and manufacturers.  Establishment of a positive rapport with colleagues and external constituents is essential. This role reports directly to the VP of Accounting and Loan Servicing.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • General accounting duties including but not limited to accounts payable, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Perform program related responsibilities including invoice creation, and management reporting
  • Reconciliation of program support funds and related general ledger transactions
  • Preparation for and assistance in audits and other reporting requirements
  • Inventory management of office supplies
  • Participate in accounting and corporate projects as assigned
  • Mindful of NEIF’s mission to promote energy savings by increasing the affordability of energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements for consumers and businesses, and that loan volume translates to saved energy, which benefits both our communities and the environment 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Strive to reduce usage of paper and impact on environment while performing duties

 

Required Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office 
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Results-Oriented, Strategic Thinker
