Digital Media Manager

THE POSITION

 

Are you an innovative thinker who would enjoy showcasing your digital communications talents while providing vital services to the Commonwealth?  If so, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor is seeking a skilled and dedicated digital media manager to join our dynamic team.  As the Digital Media Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the Lieutenant Governor's digital media strategy across all major platforms.  This specialized profession affords the opportunity to cultivate creative and engaging content, manage the office's social media accounts, and help communicate with Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis's over 13 million constituents.  Drive your career forward while working in a fast-paced, supportive, and inspiring environment!

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

As a Digital Media Manager within the Lieutenant Governor's Office, you will have the opportunity to exercise strategic creativity through the management of the office's Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly known as Twitter) pages, as well as other social media platforms.  You will be responsible for managing, developing, and overseeing social media strategy and content, as well as generating monthly statistical reports with social analytics and trends to track growth.  This position maintains our website presence and completes updates as needed, inclusive of photographing, filming, editing, and posting content.  We are looking for an ambitious candidate with a keen eye for media forecasting and an enthusiasm for progression, collaboration, and networking.  


 

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two (2) or more years of full-time experience with campaign, political, government, or nonprofit communications.
  • Experience maintaining social media sites.
  • Experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), keyword research, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience managing and/or maintaining a website.
  • Experience with graphic design, photography, and basic video editing.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.


 

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess strong writing and editing skills, with a knack for telling a story, translating policy language into relatable copy, and communicating from a values-based framework.
  • You must possess strong attention to detail and communication skills. 
  • You must be creative with a sense of humor.
  • You must have demonstrated commitment to contributing to a diverse working environment.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
