PAY AND BENEFITS

 

Annual Pay Range: $54,711.89 - $68,868.87

 

Hourly Pay Range: $26.303793 - $33.110035

 

Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS

If you answered "yes" to the questions above, we want you to join the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office as a Legal Assistant 2. We are seeking a motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to work as part of a team to complete administrative support work for criminal cases.

 

If selected for this position, you will be responsible for providing legal assistance to the prosecutors of the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office by performing a range of legal case management and support activities for criminal prosecution. As a Legal Assistant 2, your work will primarily focus on supporting the prosecution of cases that involve felony charges or complex specialty misdemeanors, which are cases that require preliminary proceedings for charging and frequently involve sensitive information. Some examples of typical support work include reviewing and entering information in a case management system, preparing legal documents and correspondence from form templates, reading and interpreting legal documents, maintaining case files, and trial preparation. This will require you to apply your knowledge of legal terminology, organizational skills, and judgment to prioritize multiple competing tasks, as well as work collaboratively with other support staff members.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

 

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing professional administrative support including:

 

• Compiling and processing sensitive, confidential records in a database

• Referencing written procedures to carry out complex, detail driven work processes

• Drafting, proofing, and preparing documents and correspondence

• Establishing priorities and managing workload with minimal supervision

• Processing a high volume of work within time constraints

• Responding to customer service inquiries

 

• Experience using legal terminology, general legal office procedures, and/or other relevant legal processes

• Strong data entry skills

 

Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

 

• At least one (1) year of experience entering data into Prosecutor By Karpel (PbK) Case Management System

• Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) Certification

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word

• Experience providing administrative support for criminal prosecution cases

• Experience using Oregon eCourt Case Information (OECI) or CLASSWeb systems

• The Senior Legal Assistant positions have been designated by the District Attorney's Office as "essential/emergency". WORK SCHEDULE

 

This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.

 

This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.
