Staff Accountant

Job Description & Responsibilities

JH Lynch is seeking a staff accountant to work at our Cumberland headquarters. The Staff Accountant will have a general knowledge of accrual accounting and strong
analytical and problem-solving skills. The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing
day-to-day accounting operations, assisting in month-end close procedures and supporting ad-hoc activities.

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

• Ownership of monthly close, including journal entries and account reconciliations

• Accounts payable ownership; procure-to-pay responsibility for timely processing

• Assist with billing of accounts receivable, including daily revenue accounting

• Cash management including daily cash receipts and bank account reconciliation

• Preparation of quarterly/monthly audit materials as required by regulatory authority

• Monthly ownership of sales and use tax reporting

• Payroll responsibility including weekly payroll cycle management

 

 

Requirements

 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; basic Excel proficiency

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills 

• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
