Physical Therapist Assistant – St. Mary Medical Center

Job Type: Full-time 

Schedule: 8am-6pm Monday-Friday. Flexible schedule and no weekends.

Work setting: Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic

Location: 320 West 61st Ave., Hobart, IN 46342

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Conduct therapy sessions, guiding patients through exercises and activities.
  • Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, techniques, and home care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment activities.
  • Ensure a safe and clean therapy environment, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a PTA in Indiana.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and treatment techniques.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
