About Our Internship Program:

Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and abroad. The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative.

 

The Job:

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to support Advanced Manufacturing with key activities including:

  • Assist with the development and deployment of Agile Automation Production Systems
  • Gathering of appropriate information and data to aid in justification of new projects, and reporting of existing projects success.
  • Help monitor progress for regional projects to ensure they remain on time and achieve targeted savings.
  • Analyze and evolve the systems used to ensure constant improvement is maintained at the highest level
  • Assist with deployment of lean systems, dashboards, and Kaizens
  • Research and evaluate new technologies that could be used for Industry 4.0 solutions.
  • Evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Utilizes Industry 4.0 elements to improve processes and productivity.  Assist with testing proof of concept, and pilot projects.
  • Analyzes data and trends to identify problems and opportunities and makes recommendations to reduce gaps.
    Assist with the deployment of Automation and Robotic Systems and study of ergonomically designed interventions that can operate safely in proximity to people.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
  • Assist with working with vendors  to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards

You will have exposure to several areas of the Advanced Engineering at Stanley Black & Decker. You will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross-functional team of professionals, including Continuous Improvement, Finance, Plant Operations, Quality, etc..,

 

The Person:

The ideal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer intern candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Be a rising junior or senior with a target graduation date of 2026 or 2027
  • Engineering Majors: Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering at accredited University
  • Maintains strong academic credentials.
  • Exemplifies innovating thinking as relates to project planning & progress, budgeting, cost savings improvements and a diverse communicator inside and outside the business
  • Successfully manages strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.
