Certified Athletic Trainer - Duneland School Corporation

 

Franciscan Health, partnered with Confluent Health  is currently seeking a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer who will be responsible for the administration of injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and care encountered by student-athletes in competitive athletics. The ATC will cover both Liberty Middle School and Westchester Middle School in the Duneland School Corporation.

RESONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct patient care including ongoing assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, conditioning, prevention and education.
  • Provide instruction and assistance to patients and the families as appropriate.
  • Communicate with physicians, coaches and health professionals regarding patient care and coordination of services and other needs as indicated.
  • Provide written documentation according to departmental standards.
  • Work with and provide guidance to students and unlicensed personnel.
  • Foster enhanced awareness/understanding of athletic training, sports medicine, and clinic/hospital programs to the department, hospital, schools and other community organizations.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psych/ social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree from a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program
  • Preferred Education: Master’s degree from a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program
  • Experience: Six months as an athletic trainer preferred but will accept new graduates
  • Certifications Required: Must be certified by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer. Must have Indiana Athletic Trainers Licensure or obtain upon hire. BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
