Drafting Technician

We are looking for a Drafting Technician to join our team, who will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide exceptional services to the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System (VAPAHCS) in Palo Alto, CA. You will be responsible for providing drawings to track changes in accordance with construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide as-built drawings of completed construction projects.
- Create drawings reflecting all changes made during the construction process, including modifications to materials, location changes, and adjustments made during inspections.
- Prepare reports and proper documentation for projects.
- Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of drawings to meet established standards and guidelines.
- Conduct thorough checks to identify and rectify errors or discrepancies in drafts.
- Provide regular updates on the progress of drafting projects and address any concerns or modifications promptly.
- Collaborate with interior designers and medical equipment planners regarding drawing documentation standards.
- Visit job sites to compile measurements as necessary for FF&E drawing documents.
- Handle complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in drafting for interior design or architecture in commercial and industrial buildings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit is required.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans.
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Ability to gather and assemble data to complete FF&E drawing documents.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with design teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines for drafting.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
