Credit Operations Associate

 

Brigade Capital Management, LP is seeking a motivated, ambitious, and proactive individual to join our team as an Operations Associate. This unique role offers the opportunity to work on a lean team and contribute to corporate actions and cash and derivative operations. The successful candidate will handle corporate actions' lifecycle, proxy events, and cash and credit derivative trades across equity, fixed income, and derivative markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle the lifecycle of corporate actions and proxy events across equity and fixed-income markets.
  • Ensure all aspects of mandatory/voluntary, proxy, and class action events are thoroughly and accurately completed prior to deadlines.
  • Process credit derivatives trades, including single name, index, index options, and index tranches of credit default swaps.
  • Calculate, post, and reconcile initial/variation margin.
  • Research and action cash/position breaks, ensuring internal reconciliation of proprietary systems, depositories/custodian balance.
  • Communicate relevant details of events and associated elections to mitigate all potential risks and exposure inherent with the processing of corporate events.
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on creating more efficient processes while reducing risk.
  • Engage in the implementation of regulatory reform and clearing requirements across the over-the-counter derivative market.
  • Liaise with the trading desk to effectively book and settle all security lending/financing (repo) transactions. 
  • Conduct T+0 trade confirmations, manage trade break resolutions with custodians/trading counterparties, and effectively handle trade fail remediations in a dynamic credit trading environment.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with settlement and operational procedures surrounding derivatives.
  • Experience with processing of credit derivatives trades.
  • Familiarity with derivative-related regulatory matters (Dodd-Frank, Uncleared Margin Rules, EMIR Repository reporting, etc.).
