Interior Design Assistant (Part Time)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented and motivated new graduate to join our dynamic interior design team. In this entry-level role, you will assist in the creation and execution of innovative design concepts for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. You will collaborate with senior designers and project managers to bring our clients' visions to life, gaining valuable hands-on experience and growth opportunities in the interior design industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing design concepts, layouts, and presentations for client projects.
- Create mood boards, material palettes, and furniture selections to communicate design ideas.
- Support the design team in space planning, color schemes, and furniture specifications.
- Participate in project meetings with clients, architects, and vendors.
- Assist in preparing construction documentation, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Conduct product research and source materials, furniture, and fixtures.
- Provide administrative support for design projects, including preparing proposals, contracts, and project schedules.
- Assist with site visits, measurements, and on-site project coordination.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, samples, and materials.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong creative and technical skills, with proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
- Knowledge of design principles, space planning, and color theory.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of organization.
- Passion for interior design, architecture, and staying on top of design trends.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or relevant work experience in interior design.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, etc.).
- Basic understanding of building codes and regulations.
