CRM Marketing Email/SMS/Mobile -Summer Internship 2025

About This Role 
 

The CRM Marketing Intern – Email/SMS/Mobile will help manage the daily operational activities for the Ace Rewards digital communications program that includes email, SMS, mobile 1:1 marketing and other opportunities to market to customers via multiple communication channels.

 

What You’ll Do  

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of both triggered and batch email communications for assigned acehardware.com and Ace Rewards national email campaigns according to the promotional calendar.
  • Support and execute campaigns and programs according to the digital promotional calendar for mobile app.
  • Coordinate and manage the calendar in accordance with cross-functional partners to deliver messages on time. Report on campaign performance and success.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams and external vendors in the planning and implementation of marketing programs for new and existing customers. Coordinate activities and ensure accuracy of program details and communication materials.
  • Partner with Creative Team to design email and communication templates, develop images, content, promos, and landing pages for email marketing campaigns.
  • Help execute Test, Learn, Refine, Scale ideas for program refinement. Test new ways to keep existing customers engaged through digital CRM channels, driving repeat orders from both highly engaged and lapsed customers.
  • Effectively execute quality deliverables on time, on scope and on budget. Ensure quality execution of specific campaigns and adherence to corporate policies, legal and regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising and entering your senior year (Graduating December 2025 or May 2026)
  • Can effectively collaborate in a team environment with a positive attitude and constructive communication – you’re excited to be part of a team that challenges you and succeeds together!
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task projects, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other team members and retailers
  • Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access

 

Preferred Skills

  • Digital Marketing, Email, SMS or Mobile app platform knowledge and usage in prior roles a plus
  • Experience in engaging and analyzing the performance of a large email marketing database
  • Experience building and editing email templates or mobile app campaign templates
     

Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday for 12 weeks.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule weekly in our Oak Brook, IL office which will be 3 days on-site and 2 days from home

Your Responsibilities

The Software Engineering Associate intern designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications and components; supports and/or maintains software applications and components; works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and maintains documentation of application processes.   
 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to SAP; Visual Studio, TFS, C#.NET, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, AJAX, XML, Xamarin, SOLR; SQL; Python
  • Read and understand business and functional requirements
  • Design, code and test new business applications across verticals (Merchandising, Retail Support, Finance, etc.)
  • Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement
  • Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and recover production systems.
  • Create technical specifications and test plans
  • Create new and extend existing operational documentation

 

Skills requirements:

  • Working toward a technology-oriented bachelor’s degree, such as Computer Science
  • Completing Senior year of college (Graduating December ’25 or May ‘26)
  • Strong academic record
  • Passionate about technology and a desire to focus on IT End Users satisfaction
  • Comptia’s A+ certification and experience with Lenovo hardware would be a plus
  • Ability to work hands-on with PC hardware (installation, lifting, labeling, etc.)
  • Ability to be physically active and lift at least 30lbs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments
  • Ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to contribute as an effective team member
  • Takes ownership and accountability of projects and responsibilities
