Spring 2025 Fashion Video Editor Internship - Remote

Job Description: Fashion-savvy, self-motivated, independent intern with strong video editing skills needed to assist in editing content for Fashion Index’s corporate social media accounts. This role will involve working sessions with founders Tirsa Parrish and Marge Pietrera, providing hands-on experience with running a startup web platform. The candidate will draw on their existing skill sets while gaining valuable industry experience.

This is an unpaid internship, eligible for academic credit per your university’s guidelines. Only current students enrolled in an academic internship course or recognition program are eligible.

Qualifications: We are seeking students currently pursuing degrees in Film and Media Studies, Digital Media Production, Communication (with a focus on multimedia), or related fields. Ideal candidates are energetic, self-motivated, professional, and passionate about creative work. The role requires independence in a virtual setting but also collaboration with a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and a hard-working attitude are essential.

This is an unpaid internship. Fashion Index is fully aware of and in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and all Department of Labor regulations. Only current students at the time of the internship are eligible for this internship.

Check with your school's Internship Coordinator BEFORE accepting the hiring offer to determine if this position satisfies the criteria for receiving academic credit. To be eligible for this internship position, you must be enrolled in, planning to enroll, or accepted for enrollment in an academic internship course or experience recognition program through your college or university that will run concurrently with this internship opportunity.

Responsibilities: • Edit and post original content for Fashion Index (long and short format) on YouTube and occasionally other platforms (Instagram, FaceBook, LinkedIn, and TIkTok) and event recaps • Participate in artwork review; caption, tagging, hashtagging • Coordinate with teams to ensure cohesive corporate content • YouTube analytics on a weekly basis • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Proficiency in Canva and Google Workspace
Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.)

Highly proficient in aspects of video editing, color correction, sound design, and adding captions

Familiarity with content creation for TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter
High-speed internet connection capable of handling 4K video downloads/uploads
Pay: Unpaid, for College/Academic Credit. Requires a concurrent enrollment in an internship course.

Job Duration: Spring semester, about 15 weeks

Schedule: Minimum of three days per week, flexible, with at least 10 hours/week, meeting the requirements of your college/university and Fashion Index

Work Location: 100% remote

Skills: • Experience Editing 4K videos with proven track record of success on YouTube (portfolio required) • Expertise in incorporating custom graphics, transitions, visuals, cutaways, music, AI-generated visuals • Strong awareness of current trends, fashion magazines, and digital content • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment • Proactive project management and working independently • Willingness to collaborate on editing style • Ability to meet deadlines for video delivery
