North Seattle College is looking to hire a Front Desk Manager in the International Programs Department.
Salary Range for this position is $50,388.00 - 66,036.00 (DOE)

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of International Student Services, the Front Desk Manager, located at North Seattle College, will independently perform a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments such as preparing reports; answering departmental phone lines; composing correspondence and responses to frequent requests for information; establishing manual or electronic recordkeeping/filing systems and/or data base files; and responding to inquiries requiring substantive knowledge of office/departmental policies and procedures. Position may perform specialized complex word processing tasks in a word processing unit or complex rapid data inquiry and/or entry functions.
This position supervises front desk part-time and/or student workers.
This position is full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, primarily 8:00am-4:30pm.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

Specific to this position: According to SEVP, a Designated School Official (DSO) must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
What you will be working on:
- Establish and maintain an approachable, welcoming and inclusive office atmosphere for a very dynamic and fast-paced environment while greeting students, staff, faculty, parents, and campus partners visiting International Programs (IP).
- This position will provide up to 40% front desk receptionist coverage.
- This position will serve as an active member of the International Student Services team and regularly collaborate with Front Desk Managers across the campuses in the district.
- Direct the work of part-time front desk staff and student workers. This includes hiring, onboarding, training, maintaining work schedules, and on-going supervision of part-time and student staff.
- This position will serve as the point person inquiry related questions at the campus by providing information about college programs, college processes and services, events and will provide follow-up on inquiries. They will respond to requests for information via phone, email, online and in person. This person will communicate/coordinate with the International Admissions and Marketing Teams regarding admissions and inquiries.
- This position will serve as the point person for assisting international students with health insurance-related questions, in collaboration with the other Front Desk Managers. This includes assisting students to access and print their health insurance cards, confirming enrollment with the health insurance company, assisting students regarding online resources, and answering general questions.
- In collaboration with the Front Desk Managers across the District, this position will serve as a point-person for the creation and publishing of the international student e-Newsletter.
- Serves as a key staff member in the facilitation of quarterly new student orientation.
- This position will provide scheduling of appointments and meetings for IP staff. This includes the use of scheduling using Microsoft Outlook and other campus systems such as Starfish, Sunapsis, ctcLink, and other systems.
- Update, organize and maintain student resources in the lobby and provide data entry for statistical data for all IP Office departments.
- Serves as the primary contact for students or guests visiting the IP Office.
- Maintains confidential and accurate student records located in complex electronic file systems or databases. Determines and explains action necessary to achieve compliance or approval by monitoring and utilizing departmental systems (ctcLink, Sunapsis, SEVIS, Starfish, Salesforce, etc).
- Responds to basic student inquiries related to F-1 student status and is authorized as Designated School Official (DSO).
- Organizes and develops informational resources, including maintaining bulletin boards, displays, hand-out packets and resource files. Prepares information packets for special events and outreach services, etc.
- Resolves problems and responds to inquiries regarding rules, regulations, policies, department procedures, and department services.
- Performs other duties as required.

- High school graduate or equivalent
- Two years of experience working within a fast-paced office environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Must be able to work effectively with individuals representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Physical Requirements:
OFFICE SETTING
- Ability to operate office equipment, receive and interpret data, and prepare various materials
- Ability to exchange information with supervisor, lead, co-workers, and students
- Ability to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion
- Work is performed primarily in office settings with frequent interruptions and encounters noises typical of these settings
