ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Weissman's Summer Internship Program is an extraordinary opportunity for students pursuing careers in the fashion and apparel manufacturing industries. For over a decade, our program has been a launching pad for future leaders, providing 10 weeks of full-time, paid experience. 


 

Interns gain hands-on exposure across departments such as Merchandising, Technical Design, Pattern Making, and Marketing, all while being guided by experienced mentors and industry professionals. JOB TITLE

Sourcing/Planning Intern


 

LOCATION

St. Louis, Missouri (Hybrid)


 

JOB SUMMARY

Weissman Intern is responsible for providing administrative assistance and organizational support to the corresponding department. Interns are assigned a mentor within the department to collaborate with throughout the program.  Interns have a primary focus on completing a project with partners from cross-functional teams. At the end of the summer, the final project will be presented to the leadership team. 


 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supply Chain Project:  Work with mentors and cross-functional partners on a project that encompasses all aspects of the Supply Chain by taking a style from raw materials to a finished good for the Weissman brand. 
  • Day to day: Work with mentors and cross-functional partners with a focus on Planning and Sourcing. Attend weekly meetings and gain hands-on experience in a fast paced environment.
  • Planning: Assist in the upkeep of fiscal year style forecasts by analyzing genre/style based curves as well as individual selling by color/size for new and existing styles. Conduct sales data analysis and work closely with Merchandising partners to identify trends, improve forecasting, and contribute to inventory planning decisions.
  • Sourcing:  Assist with cost analysis by collaborating with Design and Technical Design teams to ensure cost efficiency throughout the product development process.  Engage in prototype reviews, pricing and production schedules to ensure timely delivery and cost alignment.  
  • Managing Timelines: Meet all internal department and internship curriculum deadlines.  Present final design project at conclusion of internship with cross-functional partners.



 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Working towards a degree in Fashion/Apparel Design, Fashion Merchandising, Retail and Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Ability to relocate to St. Louis, Missouri for the summer.
  • Knowledge of dance or activewear is a plus.
  • Available to participate in our full-time internship program from the end of May/June to August 2025.  Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
  • Eligible to work in the US without restrictions.
