Industrial Design Intern

Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to participate as an Industrial Design Intern in Franklin, TN for Summer 2025 (June-August). Mission 

Bring creativity to Schneider Electric and advocate for user-centric design. Demonstrate an energetic, curious and charismatic personality that infects others with passion for design. This intern must be capable to handle project for product, and graphic design. They must possess a strong artistic and technical culture enabling the creation of brand design defined by our design charters. 

What will you do?

  • Express ideas clearly and build on the ideas of others. 
  • Inspire, provide vision through work and approach within the community of people from many disciplines (interaction design, engineering, marketing, and business) 
  • Translate user needs, technical realities, brand attributes and business needs into compelling products that embody a positive experience. 
  • Create innovative concept relevant to their users and their contexts 
  • Demonstrate excellent visualization skills. 
  • Handle the technical connection between visual and functional design elements. 
  • Hands-on model making experience 
  • Assist with projects in parallel in various stages of development

What qualifications will make you successful? 

  • 3+ years completed toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design or related field by Summer 2025
  • Graduating August 2025 or later
  • Strong communication skills: Visual, written, spoken
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and In-Design)
  • Fluency in 3D modeling: Rhino and Keyshot preferred
  • Innately curious with an interest in sustainability
  • To be considered for the role, candidates must submit a portfolio showing the above to be true
  • Able to work full-time from Nashville, TN June-August 2025 (this position does not fund relocation)

The U.S. compensation for this full-time position is a range starting with at least $25 per hour for candidates located within the U.S. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training
