Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor (Trails)

Major Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise the park's trails program-, including the backcountry carpentry program and multiple trail crew units.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in trail, trail bridge, and backcountry structure maintenance.
  • Develop long and short-range plans for trail, trail bridge, backcountry structure maintenance and operations.
  • Ensures that planning and project work meet state and federal regulations per Life Safety Code, ADA/ ABAAS, National Environmental Policy Act, Historic Preservation Act and the Wilderness Act.
  • Ensure that opportunities are provided for employees to complete training required by their position, including chainsaw, Wilderness First Aid/ Responder, helicopter Manager/ Crew, blasting, livestock, and fall protection training.
