Duties

Incumbent administers the routine and mid-level work areas of the Commercial Use Authorization and Special User Permit programs, as well as the asset management components of the concessions program for the park. Provides assistance to the Commercial Services Manager and park managers regarding commercial services (e.g. development of concession operating plans, contract issues). Review and/or analyze information related to concessioner operations, including operations costs, revenues, and fulfillment of contractual financial obligations. Prepare reports, permits, fact sheets or other documents in accordance with required procedures and formats. Compile, track and maintain data related to commercial services using automated systems and databases. Tracking basic financial information related to permits, contracts, utility bills, fees, payments, etc and resolves or clarifies any conflicting data. Work with the Finance Office to prepare Bills of Collection and utility reimbursements are processed and reconciled.

The incumbent is supervised by the Commercial Services Officer within the Division of Administration and Business Services at Mount Rainier National Park. Travel is infrequent but could occur up to 2-3 nights/mo, including backcountry. Work is largely sedentary though foot-travel into the park's wilderness areas is intermittently required. Incumbent must be able to maintain a drivers license. Good organizational skills and emotional intelligence are a must. Housing may be provided; the position is telework eligible; the position is not remote.

Time-in-Grade: Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service); with few exceptions as outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal civilian employees applying for reinstatement who have had a break in service of less than one year, as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointments. Time-in-grade does not apply to new excepted service appointments and must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
