Fabrication Specialist B

Description: 
Performs machine set-up, machining, welding, welding, sheet metal fabrication, extrusion, tube bending, and fabrication tasks. Performs composite Client-up, fabrication, and assembly tasks—Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies, and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.

Requirements/Years of experience/Etc. 
6 months experience with Manufacturing, Fabrication, and Aviation.
6 months experience/proficiency with typical hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, ratchets, etc.) Use of high-impact vibratory tools.
6 months+ of experience with pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.
6 months+ of experience/ability to perform computer searches to look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings, and/or specifications.
6 months of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, and/or other specialized computer applications.
Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.
Ability to identify common tools

Top 3-5 Technical/Software Skills needed to perform this role/job 
conventional material layup, precision measuring, power, pneumatic, and hand tools.
CNC experience.
Crane Operations experience.
Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematics, and diagrams in aviation.

Education / Experience: 
High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
