International Admissions Specialist

Seattle Colleges District is looking to hire an International Admissions Specialist in International Programs.

Salary Range for this position is $45,900 to $61,296 annually. The expected starting annual rate of pay for this position is $59,724.

Opportunity is open until filled, first review of materials will begin October 23rd, 2024. 

 

Position Summary

As an International Application Specialist, you will be a key member of the team that supports the enrollment and retention of high-quality international students to advance global education and understanding. In this role, you will help to enrich the diversity of Seattle Colleges by supporting the admission of prospective international students. You will help to support efficient admissions operations and support the financial sustainability of the college.

This position is Full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.

This position works a hybrid schedule of both remote and on-site work. 

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

What you will be working on:

 

  • You will work with your team in International Programs to admit international students to Seattle Colleges. 
  • You will communicate with applicants, review and process their applications for admission, issue their acceptance materials, maintain admission accurate admission records, and provide admissions-related information to students, colleagues, and other stakeholders. 
  • You will act as Designated School Official (DSO) for issuance of immigration documents related to admissions.
  • With your team, you will analyze problems and provide outcomes, solutions, and/or recommend alternative course of action to complete the International Admissions process to support applicants and partner agents having difficulty with the online application system.
  • With the admissions team, you will create a resource rich, welcoming space for students, ensuring those who may be new to a college environment are included in our community, and carry out work collaboratively in ways that prioritize the needs of students. 
  • You will participate in development opportunities and college efforts that develop your skills and commitment to student success, especially historically underserved students of color.

What you bring as a candidate: 

  • You will hold an associate degree OR any combination of relevant education, training and experience that indicates successful performance of the essential functions of the position. 
  • You are able to work independently. 
  • You have the ability to make decisions based on expected outcomes.
  • You have strong organizational skills, and can communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing 
  • You have a high attention to detail, particularly in reviewing documents and data entry
  • You have experience interpreting and applying government regulations and policies 
  • You have technical skills, to include use of Microsoft Office and Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • You meet eligibility requirements to be a Designated School Official (DSO) as determined by the Department of Homeland Security and must meet requirements to maintain status as a DSO on an ongoing basis.
