Human Resources Intern

The Human Resources Coordinator with other HR team members to provide administrative support in a variety of HR programs and policies within specific areas of Human Resources. This involves direct support and assistance in carrying out department projects and programs, in addition to preparing and producing routine documents tied to standard procedures, primarily for the benefits and payroll teams.

Uses various personal computer software packages such as spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, etc. to produce high quality reports, presentations, or other documents.

Responsible for regular follow-up with those who may not have taken required actions. Functions as a team member within the department and performs duties assigned to best serve the company.

Provides administrative, organization and project support to members of the HR team, including but not limited to the preparation of correspondence such as letter writing, copying and distributing documents, filing, invoice processing, reconciling expense reports, and processing mail, facsimiles and other correspondence.

Uses various personal computer software packages such as spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, etc. to produce high quality reports, presentations, or other documents.

Maintains and compiles data for reports.

Independently manages two or more HR programs such as voluntary benefits and electronic consent.

Responsible for printing payroll transactions and opens payroll-related mail and routes to appropriate person.

Responsible for regular follow-up with those who may not have taken required actions.

Actively assist others in benefits and payroll-related projects.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

- Junior majoring in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or other related field

- Overall GPA 3.0 or higher

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products

- Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization

- Strong customer service skills and business acumen

- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

- Must be in close proximity to Richmond, VA

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Rising Senior majoring in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or other related field
