Scientist, Protein Engineering

Adimab is the leading technology provider for therapeutic antibody drug discovery, focusing solely on our partnerships without pursuing an internal product pipeline. Since 2009, we have partnered with over 100 pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, generating more than 500 therapeutic programs, of which more than 70 have entered clinical trials.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a creative and talented Scientist to join our Platform Technologies team. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing Adimab's platforms for discovering, engineering, and characterizing therapeutic proteins, including antibodies and soluble T cell receptors (TCRs). We are seeking candidates with a proven track record of creative problem-solving, expertise in designing, executing, and analyzing complex protein engineering experiments, and strong communication skills, demonstrated through both publications and presentations. Additional expertise in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis, computationally guided protein engineering (machine learning, protein structure modeling), and/or de novo protein design is desired, as this Scientist will work closely with Adimab’s Computational Biology group. Previous experience with antibody/protein display technologies and with TCR expression, engineering, or recognition is also preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal technology development efforts to build upon Adimab's protein discovery and engineering platforms
  • Lead external partner-funded antibody and soluble TCR discovery and engineering campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Adimab’s Computational Biology group to validate, implement, and build upon emerging computationally guided techniques for therapeutic protein discovery and engineering.
  • Monitor emerging techniques and technologies in the protein biologics field
  • Contribute to company-wide scientific discussions and bring new ideas to the table
  • Successfully collaborate with multiple internal teams and departments to deliver timely and high-quality results.
  • Summarize and present key findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to scientific manuscripts highlighting novel discoveries and capabilities.

Desired upon hire:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent practical experience in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, biological engineering, or related field documented by relevant publications
  • Desire to meticulously plan, execute, and summarize bench experiments; detail-oriented and organized
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in protein engineering; experience with antibody, TCR, or other protein display technologies is desired
  • Competency in standard molecular biology and microbiological culturing techniques; experience with NGS a plus
  • Knowledge of emerging computational techniques for protein design, discovery, and engineering; hands-on experience with computationally guided protein engineering or de novo protein design is a plus
  • Proficiency in basic data and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis
  • Proficiency with standard protein visualization software (e.g. Pymol)
  • Ability to proactively and effectively communicate with colleagues and supervisors

Come join us!
Our integrated antibody discovery and engineering platform provides unprecedented speed from antigen to purified, full-length human IgGs with exquisite specificity and biophysical behavior. We offer fundamental advantages by delivering diverse panels of antibodies that meet the most demanding standards for affinity, epitope specificity, species cross-reactivity, and developability. We enable our partners to rapidly expand their biologics pipelines through a broad spectrum of technology access arrangements.

As a profitable privately-held biotech company, we take a long-term view on value creation and make substantial investments in technology development, research, and our people. We offer individually tailored compensation packages comprised of a competitive salary, meaningful equity, a 2:1 401(k) match, and comprehensive health care benefits.

Located in New Hampshire’s beautiful Upper Connecticut River Valley, we are minutes from Dartmouth College, the Geisel School of Medicine, the Thayer School of Engineering, the Tuck School of Business, and the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
