Corporate Development Analyst
North Mill Equipment Finance (NMEF) is seeking an analyst to report to a senior member within Corporate Development. This role also provides integral support to NMEF’s senior management team.
As one of the largest independent finance companies in the United States, NMEF is uniquely positioned to continue its rapid growth through strategic initiatives. NMEF’s Corporate Development team is tasked with 1) supporting the strategy of its core originations platform and 2) analysis and execution of new initiatives such as M&A, strategic partnerships, and special programs.
The Corporate Development Analyst will work closely with management to support NMEF’s existing platform and drive new initiatives. Given NMEF’s rapid growth trajectory and increasing strategic complexity, an individual in this role is well-positioned to grow into a leader within the company and contribute to NMEF’s strategic plan.
Direct responsibilities include:
- Compiling and analyzing reports regarding NMEF’s capital resources, on behalf of external investors as well as internal stakeholders
- Supporting execution of NMEF’s regular securitizations and ongoing management of existing bank facilities
- Support for North Mill’s portfolio of strategic investments, including:
- Supporting the Corporate Development team in evaluation of prospective acquisitions, including financial modeling and preparation of investment memos
- Working with portfolio companies to develop strategic and financial plans
- Requisite analytics to drive decision making of NMEF management
- Production and analysis of monthly KPI’s
- Support Corporate Development team in production of quarterly presentation materials for NMEF’s board of directors
- Provide analytical support for:
- NMEF’s capital raising activities, including efforts on behalf of its portfolio companies
- NMEF’s strategic plan, including budgeting and company presentations to partners and third-parties
- Analysis of lease/loan performance and company financial metrics, including presentation of results to senior management
- Managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Required skills/qualifications:
- While previous experience in financial services is a plus, the candidate must have a demonstrated interest in a career path that includes financial analysis and strategy
- Candidate must be comfortable with 1) financial modeling in Microsoft Excel, 2) data analysis of large data sets, and 3) preparing presentations in Microsoft Powerpoint
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school. While a degree in business/finance or a related field is not required, applicant must have strong understanding of financial concepts and be able to perform basic financial analysis
