Intern, Institutional Engagement

Job title: Intern, Institutional Engagement 

Location: Remote USA 

Duration: Academic year, Fall 2024-Spring 2025.  

Schedule: 10-20 hours per week, flexible 

Compensation: $12-$15/hour 

Employment Type: Part-time, non-exempt

As an intern with our Institutional Engagement Team, you will have a chance to hone your skills in communication, teamwork, customer service, time management, data stewardship, and more while contributing to the organization’s mission, strategy and results. In this role, you will support program approval and enrollment growth through creative outreach strategies aligned with team goals.

Responsibilities  

Representing IFSA at virtual and potentially at in-person campus events and sessions, including study abroad fairs, information sessions and occasional classroom presentations. 

Operating with a customer-oriented mindset to quickly respond to internal requests, campus needs, and propose creative solutions. 

Utilizing Salesforce CRM to maintain detailed records of all activities, prospective student communications and supporting the Institutional Engagement team with data entry and maintenance.  

Supporting Institutional Engagement programming for campus educators and prospective students, such as webinars and info sessions, to build knowledge of IFSA programs and best practices. 

Serve as liaison between prospective students and additional IFSA staff to respond to queries. 

Contribute to research projects that will support the team in initiatives connected to IFSA engagement, awareness, and partner relationships for undergraduate prospective students, faculty and staff on campus.  

Work with the IFSA mission and our commitments as a foundation to all projects and communications. 

 

General Requirements, Education and Work Experience 

Current undergraduate or graduate student 

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once; meet deadlines 

Keen attention to detail and a mature approach to communication  

Strong oral and written communication skills 

Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders from diverse communities and cultures  

Ability to relate to and support students with diverse lived experiences including students of color, students with mental and physical disabilities, first-generation college students, and LGBTQIA+ students  

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel 

Experience in Salesforce is helpful, but not required 

Authorized to work in the USA; physically located in the USA for the duration of the internship 

 

Physical & Work Environment  

Working on a computer to complete usual office tasks such as typing, phone calls, video calls, emailing.   

Remote position. IFSA will provide a laptop from which to work, or you can use your own device.
