Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic

To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join our team as an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic in our Maintenance Department. This position is responsible for completing routine inspections and repairs; performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; and running tests after making repairs. The successful candidate will hold a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certificate and a valid driver’s license. This position reports to the Manager, Aircraft Maintenance. 

 

Starting Salary: $27.00/hr - $31.00/hr (salary determined by base location and shift)

 

Sign On Bonus: Up to $17,500 depending on relevant experience

 

Essential Duties:

  • Complete and document routine inspections and repairs
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; may include, but is not limited to, engines, landing gear, exteriors, brakes, and pumps
  • Conduct tests after making repairs or performing maintenance on company fleet

 

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous background and/or experience in mechanical operations

 

Work Environment:

  • Use of computers and other office equipment
  • Airport ramp and warehouse environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels
  • Available to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, climbing up and down stairs
  • Handle objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally with assistance from coworkers or tools

Employment is contingent upon a valid driver’s license and clear driving record, 10-year Criminal History Records Check, and drug screen as required. We also require proof of high school or GED completion. Minimum 18 years of age.

Starting Rate:

$27.00/Hourly - 31.00/Hourly (Based on locale and experience)
