Graduate Assistant in Computer Science
We are looking for highly organized candidates with an excellent academic track record for the position of graduate assistant. All graduate assistantships will support the department operations by aiding professors in the lower level CSIT courses focusing on supporting closed labs and grading. Some assistance in the classroom, under the supervision of the professor will also be assigned. Some graduate assistants will also work in the lab as a consultant helping students from a variety of classes by answering their questions and advising them on their assignments.
Graduate assistants will need to periodically lecture classes and administer meetings, requiring a demonstrated history of leadership.
Graduate Assistant Responsibilities:
- Reinforce their fundamental understanding of computer science by answering undergraduate student questions on assignments.
- Reinforce their understanding of particular courses by grading assignments and projects under the supervision of a faculty member.
- Reinforce their understanding of particular courses by aiding the faculty in the classroom and lead some course topics, under the supervision of a faculty member.
- Assisting professors and departments with various administrative tasks.
- Assuming the role of teaching assistant and assisting with teaching material.
- Assisting their professor with grading papers.
Graduate Assistant Requirements:
- Registered and enrolled in a Computer Science or Software Engineering graduate degree.
- Good academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Minimum of 8 credits - full time student.
- Sound leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Good computer literacy.
