Human Resources Intern (Native Pathways)

Job Summary

 

The Human Resources (HR) organization at Dominion Energy is looking for a student interested in an exciting opportunity that will provide exposure to several key areas within HR.  These areas could include; Talent Strategy (areas that support Workforce Development, Talent Acquisition, Talent Mgmt & Development and Employee Experience), Business Engagement (areas that support Nuclear, Dominion Energy Virginia (DEV), Dominion Energy South Carolina and our Services areas), Payroll, Benefits and Compensation.  The selected student will rotate through several of these areas to learn about how each provides vital support to the company.

 

Project assignments may include:

  • Assisting with special projects in any of the key areas within HR.
  • Talent Strategy; partner with team members whose roles are primarily focused on attracting talent to the company.  May work on recruiting, branding/content, coordinating events, supporting our EMPOWER Career Center, or assisting with various initiatives such as Family Fun Days.
  • Business Engagement; shadow an HR Business Partner to see how they support, on a day-to-day basis, the various groups across DE.
  • Payroll; learn about key payroll policies, payroll cycles and applicable taxes.
  • Benefits; get a behind the scenes view of the benefits offered at DE and how they are selected and managed.
  • Compensation; learn about key compensation components to include information about career levels, job families and market pricing

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and on project teams

Demonstrated time management and organizational skills needed to work in a fast-paced environment

Active involvement in Tribal and Native serving organizations

Leadership roles in Tribal, student, or volunteer groups

Preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled members of a Native American Tribe

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Experience with marketing, social media, and use of digital tools

General knowledge of HR processes & policies

 

Education Requirements

 

A student currently pursuing a 4-year degree at an accredited college

Preferred disciplines include; Business, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources or a related field

Must have an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027 or 2028

Candidates must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA

Working Conditions

Office Work Environment 76 -100%
