Summary / Role Purpose

The Sr. Business Development Executive (Sr. BDE) is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing new strategic partnerships with market influencers, finding new ways of expanding client reaches to new potential areas and deepening client engagement to better meet the needs of fast-changing market environments. The Sr. BDE’s mission is to develop growth strategies that drive the awareness and penetration of Ansys’ technology in the Federal, Aerospace and Defense Business Unit supporting semiconductor solutions for National Security Customers. The successful Sr. Business Development Executive will build strong and strategic relationships within the Federal Aerospace and Defense market to drive semiconductor technology solutions utilizing the full Ansys portfolio.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop Enterprise Federal, Aerospace and Defense Semiconductor Sales Strategies. Identify key Semiconductor simulation needs aligned with Ansys simulation strengths and develop Ansys’s (vertical) strategy and associated workplan to maximize these sales.
  • Lead technology Ansys customer technology discovery through active engagement from chip, package, board, to system for advanced homogeneous and heterogeneous 3D solutions for defense applications.
  • Establish and refine customer requirements for complete Ansys solutions
  • Collaborate across Ansys business verticals and lead cross-functional teams (Sales, ACE, Marketing, and partners) to integrate innovative solutions into existing workflows to deliver the excellent customer experience of Ansys
  • Develop and refine solution strategies with internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Develop semiconductor aerospace and defense go to market collaterals that support sales strategies such as technical whitepapers, request for information responses, technical content for proposals, and statements of work.  
  • Managing and retaining strategic relationships with opinion-leading clients in the market.
  • Increasing client base with 4 perspectives - new client acquisition, new product expansion, new partners, and new displacement. 
  • Align Ansys’ mission with market megatrends and clients’ DT agenda with well-balanced mid/long terms strategies. 
  • Identifying and mapping business value/strengths and customer needs 
  • Researching business opportunities and viable income streams for white space expansion.
  • Follow and report on industry trends locally and internationally. 

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electrical and Computer Engineering or other related field with 6+ years of experience of demonstrated success in sales or business development OR 10+ years of experience demonstrated success sales or business development. 
  • 4+ years’ experience in the Federal Government, Defense Industry, and Semiconductor industry
  • A strategic thinker who possesses exceptional analytical, consultative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen, financial, analytical, and critical thinking skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability to develop a vertical strategy and lead attainment of critical objectives.
  • Proven track record of managing business development activities to achieve growth targets.
  • Successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships ranging from senior level executives to technical contacts.
  • Demonstration of capabilities and skills for building trust, accountability and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, team player
  • Skilled at presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups, and positioning to meet the objectives of the event or meeting.
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to receive and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Ability to travel for business purposes (approximately 25%)
