Cybersecurity Early Career Development Program

THIS PROGRAM HAS A START DATE OF JULY 2025

Corporate Security & Resilience Rotation

In this year-long program you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to support and protect critical IT related systems in a complex enterprise environment. You’ll begin by completing 4-month rotations in any three of the following businesses: Security Engineering, Identity Access Management (IAM), Cyber Defense, and Security Operations Center (SOC). During your business rotations, you could be working on:

  • Optimizing existing security capabilities and the design / service delivery of next generation security technologies.
  • Assisting in the design and maintenance of enterprise security standards, design patterns, and capability roadmaps to ensure and demonstrate currency and sustainability of Citizens’ enterprise security architecture. Converge digital modernization efforts through APIs and IAM technologies to create uniform authentication experiences for our customers.
  • Instrumentation and application of course- and fine-grained user access controls to ensure colleagues only have access to the data they are approved and required to have access to.
  • Supporting proactive security monitoring of critical, flagship banking and money movement applications.
  • Assisting the Cyber Defense team in establishing a security data repository that ingests all security telemetry and builds an analytical solution for real-time situational awareness.
  • Working to develop business continuity solutions to meet business needs, support the management of recovery workspace across the bank and maintain technologies that support the Business Resilience Office.

All ETSDP colleagues will spend their first 5 weeks together for on-boarding, orientation, and our in-house Tech Made Ready Academy.

Early Career Development Program (ECDP)

All ETSDP colleagues will participate in the Early Career Development Program (ECDP) this robust program is designed to give our new colleagues a solid foundation to Citizens. Through the ECDP, you’ll experience:

  • 4-day in-person event with bank-wide development program colleagues
  • Professional development workshops (including Presence & Presentation)
  • Networking opportunities with senior leadership across all areas of Citizens
  • Dedicated community service activities to include direct service or skills-based volunteering to local organizations across our footprint.

Life after the program

Upon successful completion of the ETS Development Program, colleagues will be placed on a team where you will continue to develop your Corporate Security & Resilience career.

What you’ll need to apply  Basic qualifications

  • Successfully complete a video interview assessment within 7 days of receiving the link. If not completed within the timeframe, your application will be automatically withdrawn from consideration.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Data Security, Information Technology or other related discipline with coursework in cyber or information security
  • Expected graduation date of Spring 2025
  • Minimum GPA of 3.00
  • Familiarity with cyber security tools and technologies
  • Adaptability and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and methodologies.

Preferred qualifications

  • Internship or professional experience in a cybersecurity or corporate security role
  • Previous exposure to software development and/or engineering.
  • Attention to detail; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux and MacOS
  • Understanding of banking industry specific threats and challenges

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M - F
