2025 Summer Intern

Overview

Title: Summer Intern (Seasonal, Paid)

Location: Sandpoint, ID (On-Site)

Duration: June 9 - August 6, 2025
 

Description

The Festival at Sandpoint is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, driven, organized, and enthusiastic summer intern(s). Interns must be able to commit to a minimum of three full days (9 AM - 5 PM) in the Festival at Sandpoint office and venue in Sandpoint, Idaho. Hours will vary during the Summer Series. This is a paid internship that will run from June 9 through August 6, 2025.
 

Summer Intern(s) will be responsible for the basic day-to-day operations of the office, from answering phones, selling concert tickets, and customer service. They will also assist full-time staff with projects and event preparation as needed. Summer Intern(s) will ensure that customer and client queries are addressed and create an office environment that is positive, clean, and organized. Interns may also be assigned an area(s) of focus based on skills and interests, including but not limited to marketing, merchandise, hospitality, box office management, volunteer coordination, production, or facilities. The position reports directly to the Office Manager.

 

General Responsibilities

Office Duties & Operations

  • Opening and closing the office daily
  • Supporting administrative duties and ensuring that the office is operating smoothly
  • Managing office supplies inventory and placing orders, as necessary.
  • Greeting visitors and answering and directing phone calls.
  • Assist with document scanning, filing, archiving, and shredding.

Customer Service

  • Providing excellent customer service to both external guests and internal vendors.
  • Providing positive interactions and experiences to all customers.
  • Utilizing conflict resolution to defuse tense customer service scenarios while remaining positive,  respectful, and solution-oriented. 
  • Effectively communicating the organization’s mission to donors and customers.
  • Facilitating the purchasing process of tickets and merchandise with customers.
  • Will call management, including proper documentation and procedures 
     

Project Management

Responsible for assisting in project-focused tasks such as:

  • Badge creation
  • Venue sign creation
  • Printed information materials inventory, management, and creation
     

Intern Areas of Focus

Interns may also be assigned an area(s) of focus based on skills and interests. These department roles are not a definitive guide to responsibilities but will help offer insight into the available tasks and projects.

 

Box Office Management & Customer Service

  • Selling tickets, answering questions, and assisting customers at Box Office
  • Knowledgeable of FAQs and ticketing procedures
  • Assist Gate Crew with scanning device management and ticketing issues
  • Managing physical will call at Box Office
  • Communicate with Office Manager about Box Office issues or general functioning regularly

 

Facility & Production Management

  • Create an inventory of all facilities required, including stages, tents, restrooms, food stalls, and other amenities.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure timely delivery and setup of facilities. 
  • Organize the setup of all festival facilities, coordinating with various teams to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct walkthroughs to verify that all facilities are installed according to specifications.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for facility vendors.
  • Oversee and manage load-in and load-out operation of multiple artists productions in addition to artist trucks and vehicles coming and going to loading dock.
  • Address any issues or modifications with Operations Manager as required by vendors  during the event. 
  • Supervise the efficient breakdown and removal of festival facilities post-event.  
  • Coordinate with vendors for the return or disposal of rented equipment. 

 

Hospitality

  • Assist Hospitality Manager with talent rider management and shopping
  • Coordinate daily dressing room stock and catering menus
  • Organize decor, arrange furniture, and set up and tear down general hospitality areas
  • Coordinate with local vendors to acquire and deliver crew meals
  • Assist Hospitality Manager with volunteer and crew management
  • Coordinate daily laundry pickup and dropoffs as needed

 

Marketing 

  • Create content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
  • Manage and respond to social media comments and questions
  • Create and design print materials such as brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Create and prepare content for the digital program
  • Draft press release communications
  • Assist with signage installation, documentation, and guest experience

 

Merchandise

  • Merchandise inventory management
  • Assist with Square setup and AtVenu setup
  • Assist with merchandise volunteer training, scheduling, and management
  • Merchandising and booth setup during Summer Series

 

Volunteer Coordination

  • Assist with scheduling volunteers and creating shifts in Volunteer Local software
  • Communicate with volunteer chairs
  • Facilitate volunteer check-in at volunteer gate for all performances
  • Coordinate with volunteer chairs and about volunteer cancellations, no-shows, etc.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Ability to display excellent customer service, meeting the needs and expectations of customers, volunteers, staff, etc.
  • Dependable and reliable team player.
  • Ability to learn new tasks and information quickly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task, and manage time.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and productivity in a changing environment with consistent interruptions.
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of dedication, self-motivation, and drive.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.).

 

Mobility

  • Office: Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods.
  • Venue: Standing, sitting, and walking outside for short periods.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to speak, see, and hear other personnel and/or objects.
  • Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form.
  • Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

 

Environmental Conditions

  • Office: usual office setting, indoors.
  • Venue: may be indoors or outdoors, exposed to summer weather conditions.
